| Carlow University Winter Commencement Will Be Friday, December 14 |

Carlow Universitys Ellie Wymard Is Commencement Speaker
Pittsburgh, Pa. Add some pomp and circumstance to the holiday festivities as Carlow University graduates will wear their academic regalia on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. to celebrate Carlow's Winter Commencement Ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard in Oakland.
More than 300 students will graduate this semester. Of that number, 105 students will receive bachelor's degrees, 182 students will receive master's degrees and 18 students will receive doctoral degrees.
The Commencement speaker will be Ellie Wymard, PhD, the director of Carlow's Master of Fine Arts in creative writing program, and a Carlow alumna. Wymard is a professor of English at Carlow and published author of four non-fiction books. She has been a Distinguished Speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council Commonwealth Speaker Program. She was also one of the four finalists for the Athena Leadership Awards in 2000.
The Commencement celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Baccalaureate Mass at St. Paul's Cathedral, located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Craig Street. The graduate reception follows immediately located in the fellowship hall.
