Carlow University First Year Students' Move-In Day Is Wednesday, August 22

Move-in Day Kicks Off New Student Orientation Before Classes Start Monday

Pittsburgh, Pa. Carlow University will welcome first year students to its campus and into the dormitories on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting until 3 p.m.

As has become a Carlow tradition, when students and their families arrive, they will be greeted by university staff and students, then professional movers will unload each car and deliver the baggage to the assigned dorm room. Each car will then be valet parked, so families can concentrate on unpacking and making the dorm room look like a home away from home.

Move-In Day is the first event during New Student Orientation for all first year and transfer students before classes begin on Monday, August 27. New Student Orientation offers a variety of activities throughout its five days, which helps new students make friends, eases the transition into the collegiate setting, and acquaints them with Carlow traditions.

One of those traditions is the Matriculation Ceremony, which will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the St. Agnes Center of Carlow University, located on Fifth Avenue, between the intersections with Craft Avenue and Robinson Street.
