| Carlow University Theatre Prepares to Perform in Ireland's Éigse Arts Festival |
| |
Dress Rehearsal on the Carlow Campus Green on Monday, June 4, at 6:30 PM
Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Carlow University Theatre Group will return to the Éigse Arts Festival in Carlow, Ireland on June 11 through 13, 2012. The group made its international debut at the festival two years ago.
At the Éigse Arts Festival, the group will perform "He Ain't Done Right by Nell," a one-act melodrama written by Wilbur Braun in 1936. A dress rehearsal of the play will take place on the Carlow campus green at 6:30 pm on Monday, June 4, 2012. The public is invited to attend the performance. In the event of rain, the dress rehearsal will be moved to the Rosemary Heyl Theatre, located in Antonian Hall, on the Carlow campus.
"He Aint Done Right by Nell" will be directed by Jay Keenan, the producer of the Duquesne Red Masquers at Duquesne University, who, along with Carlow University Theatre founder and producer, Steve Fatla, will accompany 13 students to Ireland.
Éigse Carlow Arts Festival is an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival in Carlow in the south east of Ireland held annually in June since 1979. It has a strong focus on poetry and the Irish language, but can be enjoyed by people who do not speak Irish, too. Originally what was just a local endeavor and a simple weekend event, the festival has grown to become Ireland's fourth largest arts festival.
