Campus School Student Named Pennsylvania National Geographic Bee Semifinalist

The National Geographic Society has named Emmanuel Eppinger as a Semifinalist

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Emmanuel J. Eppinger, a seventh grade student at the Campus School of Carlow University, has been named one of Pennsylvania's National Geographic Bee Semifinalists by the National Geographic Society.

The National Geographic Society took the top 100 scores from students in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, and the U.S. territories, and invited the students to compete at the state level. The state winner will receive $100, the "Complete National Geographic on DVD," and a trip to Washington, D.C. where they will represent Pennsylvania in the national finals at National Geographic Society Headquarters.

Emmanuel is the son of Frances Mary Modugno and Jeffrey Eppinger of Squirrel Hill. He is currently in the seventh grade at the Campus School of Carlow University and is a member of St. Bede's Parish.

The 2012 Pennsylvania Geographic Bee is sponsored by National Geographic Society, Google, and Plum Creek. The National Geographic Bee will be held at Penn State University Park campus on March 30, 2012.
